Visions of Kyrgyzstan
Visions of Kyrgyzstan – Travel with me to a part of the ancient silk road, once ruled by the Turkish nomads and conquered by the Mongols.
The ‘Stan’ (Persian for place) of the ‘Kirk’ (Turkish for 40) where a yurt proudly decorates the national flag, eagles hunt for men, Lada’s run without fuel (downhill), and throwing a dead sheep’s head (kok boru) is the national sport.
The tremendous encounter with the (semi-)nomadic culture made us hungry to travel other central-Asian ‘-stan’ regions. To date, the hunger has not been completely satisfied.
