Visions of Kazakhstan – In this voyage to central Asia you can join me travelling to the ‘land of the wandering people’. Where the real nomadic life was a part of the Ghengis Khan era, nowadays you can find the semi-nomadic shepherds during the summer months. High in the mountains, or preferably the Asy-plateau, the cattle graze, sleep and produce milk (mmhh… kumis) to be sold in the lower, more urbanised areas.
Yes, once again one of the ‘-stan-country’s’ checked off on my bucket list. But as long there’s a list, we keep on travelling.
