Visions of Ladakh

Visions of Ladakh – Travel with me to the land of high passes, where Marco Polo found his sheep, the Indus river finds his source and we met Tibet.

The voyage to Leh, capital of Ladakh region in India, was the first encounter of altitude sickness. Luckily for us, also prayer wheels, stupas and monasteries were a part of this eye-opening embracement of the Buddhist culture.

The golden eagle, the prayer flags on the 5700 mountain pass, the creativity of our Nepalese cook  during our 11-day trekking, the yak pushing us out of our tent are all unforgettable details of this incredible voyage. It was dusty, exhausting, an breath-taking (not metaphorically), but it it only made our travel-wanderlust even greater!
